What is It?
This is simply a discussion group that uses the Internet. An electronic mailing list provides a way to send e-mail messages simultaneously to everyone that is a subscriber. The common name for this is a Listserv, although this one happens to be called a Mailserv.

Why Should I Join?
This mailing list provides a way for Iowa industrial technology educators, and those interested in industrial technology, to communicate with one another. For example, it can be used to ask a technical question or to discuss issues of importance to us all.

How Do I Join (Subscribe)?
1. In e-mail, send a message to MAILSERV@UNI.EDU
2. In the body of the message write SUB IOWAINDTECH (no subject is needed)
3. You will receive a message that you have been subscribed to the mailing list, along with handy commands such as how to leave the list (unsubscribe).
4. The cardinal rule with mailing lists is to keep the introductory message for future reference.

How Do I Leave the List (Unsubscribe)?
1. In e-mail, send a message to MAILSERV@UNI.EDU
2. In the body of the message write UNSUB IOWAINDTECH (no subject is needed)
3. You will receive a message that you have been unsubscribed to the mailing list

How Do I Post Messages?
Send a message to everyone on the list with the address IOWAINDTECH@UNI.EDU

How Do I Reply to a Message?
1. To Reply to the Author Only: Use REPLY in your mail program (client) or simply type in the person’s e-mail address if known.
2. To Reply to the Entire Group: Use REPLY TO ALL in your mail program (client). Also, you can simply send a new message using IOWAINDTECH@UNI.EDU as the address.
